Therefore I say unto thee, prepare thy mind to receive the blessings which the Lord shall see fit to bestow upon thee. 1874-11-26 I seal upon thee a blessing that shall be a comfort unto thee so long as thou shalt live. 1877-01-31 I ask God the eternal father for his spirit to invite thy blessing and fill thee with influence thereof. 1878-03-05 I pronounce and seal a blessing upon thee which shall be a guide and a comfort unto thee in time to come. 1882-10-22 I lay my hands upon thy head to seal upon you a Patriarchal blessing which shall continue with you through your life and all time to come. 1887-12-27 I ask my heavenly Father that his holy spirit may rest down upon me and upon you and upon the Scribe, that the words that may be said may be in accordance with the spirit of truth. 1888-11-28 I place my hands upon thy head to give thee a patriarchal blessing, which order has been ordained in these last days, even to his servant Joseph Smith, for the benefit of the people of God, and also for the benefit of those who desire their blessings for their good and for their comfort. And, Beloved Brother, inasmuch as thou hast desired a blessing at the hands of God, through his servant who has his hands laid upon your head, you shall receive it by the gift and power of God, and the gift of the Holy Ghost and the spirit of revelation. 1891-12-21 This blessing I seal upon thee, that it remain in all thy sojournings and be a lamp to thy path, to guide thee on to victory. 1894-08-24 Remember this blessing when thou art bowed down in thy feelings. I give you such promises and blessings and seal upon you such power as the Spirit of the Lord may direct. 1942-08-16 In receiving a blessing the words mean nothing but as you shall live for this blessing, then it shall be manifest in your life and it will be a guide unto you. For when the dark hours come and discouragement would overtake you, read this blessing. 1943-03-29 I pray that our Heavenly Father may inspire me to say the things that you would desire for He is satisfied with the labors that you have done and will bless you according to your needs. 1952-06-12 I give you a Patriarchal Blessing that you might find joy and happiness and consolation in the things that will be pronounced upon your head. 1952-07-19 I ask that our Heavenly Father will guide and direct us at this time that this blessing will be a guide and a comfort to you throughout your life while you sojourn here upon the earth. 1953-07-12 I pray that the desires of your heart in wanting a blessing may be realized; that I may enjoy the spirit of my calling and a rich outpouring of the Spirit of the Lord so that from this experience you may receive comfort and inspiration and a guide throughout your remaining days of this mortal life. 1954-10-10 This blessing will be an inspiring influence in thy life inasmuch as it is a gift of the Lord unto thee. It will be a directive force and power for good and it will be manifest in thy future days. This will be in mortality and even beyond the veil and many of the problems that arise and many of the questions that arise in thy mind will be clearer to thee from this day forth. 1954-10-10 This blessing which is given to thee according to thy desire and in harmony with thy wishes will be a guiding light and an inspiration in thy life inasmuch as it is a gift of the Lord in thy behalf. And it is ratified by the angels of heaven who record these things given through the priesthood for thy good. Let there be peace in your life as you read your blessing. Read it often for it is sacred unto thee and it is sealed upon thy head having been given through the power and the vision of the Patriarchal office of the priesthood into thy individual life. 1955-02-10 This blessing shall be an inspiration and a guide to you in the years that are yet to come. Honor this blessing because of this understanding and enjoy the rekindling of this feeling you have in your heart at this time each time you read this blessing and know that this is just another means of communication with the Lord. 1989-02-14 I give unto thee thy Patriarchal Blessing, to be a benefit, a guide, and comfort unto thee, throughout thy life in accordance with thy faithfulness. 1991-07-22 Your Heavenly Father is pleased that you are here for your blessing, for he has been waiting until you had a desire to receive it. 1992-11-01 I humbly ask that our Heavenly Father bless me as I serve Him in giving you this blessing, to be used as a guide, comfort and protection to you throughout your life. 1996-01-14 I pray to our Heavenly Father that this blessing will be His mind and will concerning you and it will be a source of consolation and a guide to you throughout your life here in mortality. 1996-01-21 In humility I pray for guidance as I serve our Heavenly Father in giving you this blessing. Keep it in a private place where you can refer to it frequently and pray and ponder upon its meaning to receive answers to questions as they come to your mind. It is like scripture to you and understanding comes precept upon precept, line upon line. Study it all of your life for it will have eternal meaning. You may share it with your wife and your children, when it is appropriate and would be meaningful in an educational way. But do not share it with others who may off-handedly criticize or poke fun at you or the blessing for that would offend our Father in Heaven. 1998-05-14 This blessing is to be held sacred by you and it is personal. You may treat it even as scripture. Refer to it often and pray to Our Father in Heaven that the Holy Ghost will help you as this blessing will point out possibilities that await you. In times when questions need answers, and challenges need solutions, and also in time of opportunities, refer to this blessing. It will also serve as a guidepost and ensign. 1998-05-31 This blessing is yours, your personal revelation from the Holy Ghost. All that is given is obtainable by you, and can be a great source of comfort, strength, and protection to you. 1998-08-18 I would have you to know that I pray that this blessing will be beneficial to you, will be helpful to you throughout your life. For ordinarily it would be the only patriarchal blessing that you shall receive. 1998-09-27 You have every reason to feel good about yourself today knowing that you've qualified yourself for this special message from your Heavenly Father. 1999-07-18 This blessing is to be held sacred by you. It is confidential, it is personal and you may treat it even as scripture. It will serve as an ensign and a guidepost to point out the possibilities that await you in life as you sojourn on this earth in mortality.
