Beloved Brother Gibson Condie, I place my hands upon thy head to give thee a patriarchal blessing, which order has been ordained in these last days, even to his servant Joseph Smith, for the benefit of the people of God, and also for the benefit of those who desire their blessings for their good and for their comfort. And, Beloved Brother, inasmuch as thou hast desired a blessing at the hands of God, through his servant who has his hands laid upon your head, you shall receive it by the gift and power of God, and the gift of the Holy Ghost and the spirit of revelation. And I say unto thee, Brother, take fresh courage from today, and the Lord, thy God, who knows the secrets of thy heart and the intentions of thy mind, shall give thee thy heart's desire in everything which thou wilt ask him for with an eye single to the glory of God. Beloved brother, thy life shall be spared long upon the land, to do much good for thyself and thy companion, and for thy children; for the Lord, thy God, has heard thy prayers, and has answered them upon thy head, for the good of thyself and for the good of thy children; and the eye of the Lord has been over thee from a child, to preserve thy life by day and by night, be sea and by land, and in sickness. Therefore, lift up thy heart and rejoice, for thou shalt be blessed with the blessings of long life and health and strength; and the Lord; inasmuch as thou will seek unto him for wisdom and knowledge to order thee in thy duties, shall give them unto thee, for the benefit of thyself and thy children and posterity that shall come after thee.

Thou art of a noble seed, even that of Joseph through the loins of Ephraim; and thou art privileged and entitled to all the blessings of all the Holy Priesthood, which shall be made known from time to time by the authorities of the Church; and it shall be given unto thee in the due time of the Lord, all that thou desirest for thy good, and for thy children's children; and the Lord God Almighty has answered thy prayers for the sake of thy children. And thy sons and thy daughters have been pure in heart to receive their blessings. I know it by the spirit of revelation and the gift of prophecy; and I tell you these things, Brother, because thou desirest them in thy heart, and has sought after them, and hast taught thy children the ways of the Lord, they will never forget. I pray my Father that thou mayest be preserved, that no evil power, no seducing spirit of any kind, name or nature, may draw thee aside from the love of truth. And they will not, brother, because of the integrity of thy heart, and for the prevailing spirit, which is of the noble of heaven. I ask my Father to take charge of thee from today, and to heal up thy body from the crown of thy head to the soles of thy feet. And when thou art sick and afflicted, beloved brother, call upon the Lord, who will answer thy prayers. And thou wilt have power to rebuke sickness from thine own body.

And I pray my Father to preserve thy life; and I seal thee up from danger, seen and unseen, and from the powers of darkness, and from wicked and designing men, so that they shall not have power to hurt thee, nor have power to claim anything of thee, only the discharge of thy duty. I ask my Father to lengthen out thy days, that thou shalt live and go to the Temple, yet, for thy posterity, and for thine own house, and for thy father's house, and for thine ancestors, and many faithful Latter-day Saints, whom thou hast associated with in this world, that thou mayest yet do a work for the dead also. I ask my Father to let his guardian angel go before thee, and protect thee by day and by night; and everything that you put your hands to do. Brother, the Lord shall protect, and you shall be increased in the blessings of the Lord, both temporal and spiritual. And I ask the Lord to let his guardian angel go before, on the right and on the left, that thou turn not away from the ways of God; and thou wilt not, Brother Condie, for thou art one of the choicest spirits, which has come down upon the earth to do a work for thy family; and the Lord will lengthen out thy days to do it.

And these are the blessings which have been made unto you by the still small voice, and by the spirit of revelation and the gift of prophesy since my hands have been upon thy head. Lift up thy head and rejoice, brother; and when thou goest home, thou shalt find thy house repaired, as it were. The sickness shall be better, and the power of the Lord shall rest upon thee abundantly, yet, in thine house, when sickness comes upon any of thy children. But, I pray thee my Heavenly Father; that no sickness that shall come within thy house, or any disease that comes along, shall have power to injure thy children; but they shall grow up in the fear of the Lord and in the knowledge of God, and be a blessing to you; and thy son Thomas shall be a blessing unto thee, and in the due time of the Lord. God shall unloosen his mouth, and loosen his tongue and he shall be a teacher and a faithful witness to the things of God unto the people, in the due time of the Lord.

I seal these things upon you by virtue of the priesthood, and I seal thee up, that thou shouldest come forth in the morning of the first resurrection, with thy posterity, with thy father's posterity, and thine ancestors of the faithful saints, and thou shalt live till thou art ripe like a shock of corn. And I rebuke all kinds of sickness, and command it to leave thy house; and in the name of Jesus Christ, and by virtue of the Holy Priesthood, even so, beloved brother, Amen and Amen.
