By the authority of the Holy Melchizedek Priesthood which I hold, I lay my hands on your head and give you your patriarchal blessing. This blessing will be a frequent reminder to you that you are a special daughter of God and that you were foreordained to accomplish particular missions in this life. This is a result of your choices and actions in the pre-existence. You have been sent to mortality at a time in the history of the world where your preparation and talents are needed and wherein you can experience and receive the test of agency that is necessary for your continued progression. You have been given a physical body, a brain that is very complex and capable, and special skills for you to develop and enjoy. The particular challenge is for you to use those abilities in the service of other people. The plan of happiness specifies that you need to lose yourself in service in order to fully develop and know yourself. By your choice you are, in a sense, creating your unique self.

You are privileged to have worthy parents who have set proper examples, and a family with traditions of prayer, devotion, and service. Be grateful. Express your thanks frequently to them for their care and concern.

You have come to this existence through the loins of Ephraim, son of Joseph. You are an heir to all the blessings of the Abrahamic Covenant. One of these is the opportunity to participate in preparing the earth for the second coming of the Savior. Especially at this time, where the complexities and confusions of the world are greater than they've ever been, it is your challenge to introduce and reinforce sanity and spirituality.

You have been blessed with the capacity to be confident, to stand on your own, and to resist being pressured to do things that are alien to your special spirit. You have the ability to stand tall and be a light unto the world. I bless you with discernment. You will recognize and avoid the extremes of this existence. You will present yourself attractively, yet modestly. You will monitor your speech to express ideals and values that are gospel centered. You will behave in ways that set you apart from the pedestrian of the ordinary. While you will have knowledge of various ideas and diverse technologies, you will sort through them carefully and use them to your advantage and as a representative of your Savior. Your awareness of these will enable you to share your understanding of reality and the purpose for being here. You will enlighten others with your testimony. I bless you to continue to enjoy your communication skills and especially to excel in your ability to communicate clearly through writing. By committing your ideas and your experiences to text, you can disseminate these, certainly through the internet and possibly through printed means, and make them accessible to your brothers and sisters throughout the world. These become tools for the Holy Spirit who, when impressed to do so, will direct individuals to your works.

I bless you to enjoy silence. You will be able to meditate. You will feel close to Heavenly Father and to the Spirit. You will be aware of a relationship with other people when in their presence. You will relish the spirituality of the temple as you enter and silently contemplate the significance of covenants and of your service there. You will also know that you learn when you are quiet and listening. You have a talent and an interest in being friendly and loving others. They will appreciate and return that love. This will be a source of joy for you and for those you serve.

As you proceed through schooling and other activities, particularly those within the Church, you will encounter a great variety of people. You will be attracted most strongly to those who share your values and commitments. Among these will be a young man, a worthy priesthood holder who will accompany you to a temple of the Lord where the two of you will be sealed together for time and for all eternity. I bless you to be a strong and faithful wife, to be loving and patient. You will support your husband in his worthy endeavors. You will find him to be sensitive to your needs. He will be willing to follow you when you have strengths and allow you to lean on him in his areas of competence. You will counsel together. You will create a celestial union. I bless you to be a mother. You will welcome spiritual brothers and sisters into your home and accept the responsibility to care for them, nurture them, sustain them, and teach them. I bless you to be a good example of Christian living as you give of yourself to your children and also as they experience you giving to others.

You have the ability to rise above the average in every aspect of your life. As you seek out the best in music, art, literature, and drama, you will enrich your life. You will also enrich the lives of those around you. I bless you to share your talents freely. I give you added confidence in expressing yourself as an individual with a message to share. You will rely on the Spirit to add to your talents. You will worry less about your presentation and more about the people who are recipients of your influence. I give you sensitivity to their personalities and to their needs.

You have the opportunity to serve your ancestors. I bless you with the interest and the dedication to seek them out and to share your spirit and your friendship. You will feel a kinship with them. You will build a network of relatives, through your service, which will be of satisfaction to you in the next life when you meet them personally and renew those relationships.

I give you the incentive and ability to be a wise steward of your time, talents, and means. You will schedule yourself carefully. You will build priorities. You will also make time for relaxation, entertainment, and meditation.

It is important to recognize that fulfillment of this blessing will depend on your righteous living of gospel principles throughout your life. Your reward for so doing will be to inherit eternal life, the greatest gift of God. You will rise on the morning of the first resurrection and be met by loved ones. You will find a place reserved for you in the Celestial Kingdom. You will continue to be a valiant daughter of God and an inspiration to those with whom you interact in that sphere.

This is your turn on earth. Be optimistic. Be energetic. Be enthusiastic. Take the opportunity to develop in areas that may be a challenge for you. Go with confidence in yourself and faith in God.
