Brother *****, as a servant of God, I seal this patriarchal blessing upon your head, and I say unto you, it shall be unto you according to your faith. For in receiving a blessing the words mean nothing but as you shall live for this blessing, then it shall be manifest in your life and it will be a guide unto you. For when the dark hours come and discouragement would overtake you, read this blessing and remember that it was told unto you that the power of the priesthood, which you hold, is greater than the power of all the kings upon the earth. And though they may bring trouble unto the children of men, the priesthood will heal their troubles and will give unto you the distinct position of bearing, as it were, a bond that will heal their wounds, and men will turn unto you and seek for counsel and for wisdom at your hands. Even men older than you will hearken unto your teaching.

Even though you may be called upon to serve in the service of your country, yet the spirit of God will attend you and will keep you, inasmuch as you keep your life free from the evils of the world. Especially keep yourself free from that rebellious spirit which Satan places in our hearts making us feel that we want to be a law unto ourselves and not subject unto the law of God, neither the laws of man. Therefore, put down any semblance of a desire to set your judgment above that of your presiding officers, and the Lord will hearken unto your prayers and will be with you by his guardian angel and the Lord shall bless you.

Go forth earnestly and fill your mind with the knowledge of the gospel, for it shall stand you in good stead and will raise you up in the eyes of those around you. You shall be responsible before God for the effects of your actions upon the lives of your fellow men, and in this life will God call you to account. If your actions are righteous and lead men to peace, then shall the blessings be poured out upon you. If your actions are of a contrary nature, to cause men to turn away from the truth, you shall be responsible, and their blood shall rest upon your garments.

In seeking a companion for life, be not satisfied with one who cannot go through the house of the Lord. For therein shall be your ultimate happiness and the goal for which you should continually strike. For therein is the power by which you shall stand in the presence of God and receive that crown of righteousness which shall entitle you to a position in the celestial kingdom. And all these things because you have faithfully earned them and not because I have spoken them, and I seal them upon your head in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
