Dear Brother *****, we are so grateful, *****, that you have chosen to receive your patriarchal blessing. We, including your parents, including myself, including others that may be present, but unseen, and especially our Heavenly Father, *****, as this is His blessing received and pronounced by and through the Holy Spirit, even the Holy Ghost, the spirit of God and of Christ, and of the third member of the godhead. We are grateful for the prayer that your father has asked which has indeed invited the spirit. It is our prayer that you will feel of the spirit, *****, as this blessing is pronounced, and I would ask that you carry a prayer in your heart that all things that are said and done here for the next few moments will be what our Heavenly Father desires for you. This is a blessing given by and through the authority of the Holy Priesthood. It is a sacred blessing. It is a blessing of the priesthood, and it is given you, *****, in the name of our Lord and Savior, even Israel's God, the Lord Jesus Christ.
God knows you so well. He will call you by name. You lived with Him, *****, in the pre-mortal existence for such a lengthy period of time, even thousands of ages, where you matured as a spirit, where you grew to know your Heavenly Father, where you grew a marvelous testimony and understanding of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Before you came here you knew so much. You were a powerful spirit and a mature spirit with great knowledge of the Gospel, and who you were, and what God expected you to become after that existence. It is important for you to know these things, to know from whence you have come. It is important for you to know, *****, that you loved your Heavenly Father dearly. You knew Him, you loved Him, you were obedient to the things that He asked you to do. You were a willing servant of God, and you were one of those, you are one of those held back and reserved by an all knowing Heavenly Father to come into this second estate at this time and at this place for special reasons, for special purposes, for planned purposes known to our Heavenly Father and explained to you. You fully understood the blessings and challenges and assignments that our Heavenly Father desired be presented to you here in this earth life. And you shouted for joy when you knew this opportunity would be given you, for you were present in the Grand Council in heaven where the decision was made.
*****, you find yourself in this home with these parents and siblings, with this eternal family, in this eternal family relationship because God willed it so. You are not here by chance, you are here by assignment. God knew that you would be blessed here in this home, you would be loved, you would be raised in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, you would be protected, and you would be given opportunities that you might attain all of the blessings that God has in store for you. Our Heavenly Father desires you to be a loving and obedient son, not just a spirit son to Him, but a mortal son to your parents. You have goodly parents, *****, you know that, you appreciate that, you love your parents, you love your siblings with all of your heart. It is important for you to express these feelings by being obedient, by living your life in accordance with what you know is right and by sharing your feelings, your love, your appreciation, and your thanks for and to your family members. Always make certain, *****, and I bless you that you can do this, that your family knows that you love them. You are so important to this family more so than you appreciate. This family is a wonderful family, a great family, a loving family in large part because of who you are and the blessings that you bring into your home.
Be grateful for all of your blessings. Be grateful for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Because of the Church and by and through the Gospel of Jesus Christ you know who you are and you know what God expects you to do. I bless you that you can always look to God and live, that you may always know that God is in His heavens, and is near, and is accessible by righteous living and prayer. Be grateful for living in this country, in this valley, having the privilege of agency that you can express, the freedom to express the God-given agency that you have. What a blessing it is to live here.
I bless you that you may be prayerful, that your days may begin with thoughtful prayer and may end with thoughtful prayer, prayers of appreciation and thanksgiving, prayers asking for that which is right.
Your lineage is the same as your parents and others in your family, and that is for a reason and a purpose. You have coursing through you the believing blood of the House of Israel, of Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and Joseph who was sold into Egypt. You know deep down inside that God lives, and that Jesus Christ is your Savior, and that the atonement is real, and that this is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. You have a growing testimony that these things are true. You are of the Tribe of Ephraim. Much is expected of Ephraim, as Ephraim provides leadership to the Church, and missionary service to the Church, and you were assigned before you came here, you were foreordained to these responsibilities. *****, you were foreordained to sit in councils of leadership, and the days will come where you will be given these opportunities. I bless you that you may prepare yourself to receive these opportunities and perform them well. Always serve, *****, where you are called, for service in the kingdom of God will bless your life in so many ways. And you were foreordained before you came here to be a missionary, even a full time missionary. I bless you with faith to know that if you will serve wherever it is that you are called, and know that you are called to be a missionary, then God will bless you with the righteous desires of your heart and you will see, even miraculously, blessings coming to you that will change your life, that will make you a more devoted servant of God, and that will open doors for you to achieve the many goals that you have, the righteous goals that you have set for yourself. And so as you approach these decision making moments in your life remember this blessing, read this blessing, be prayerful and thoughtful, live the Gospel, be worthy of answers to prayers and God will guide you and direct you in the path that you should go, and you will know that it is right.
You were also assigned and foreordained in the pre-mortal existence to be a husband, and a father, and a grandfather in Zion. These are the greatest responsibilities that God gave you before you came here. Always remember that. You are yet years away from seeing these blessings come to fruition, but I bless you that you may keep them in mind always, that you may live a life worthy of a beautiful, special young lady who will walk into your life at the appropriate time, that you might know her, and she might know you, that you might go together into God's holy house, there to be sealed for time and for all eternity. *****, this blessing will be yours, and you will have children, even sons and daughters, and I bless you that you will be a loving, and thoughtful, and patient father and husband who would never abuse his family in any way, and who would teach them, and raise them, and be an example for them in the Gospel of Jesus Christ so that they may also give service to God.
You will love the temple. You will want to be there as often as you can. You will enjoy serving in the temple and you will be a servant in the temple, a worker in the temples of God. And you will love family history, and you will want to do the work for those who have gone before that may not have been done before. You will work with the youth, you will be a great example for the youth. You will teach them the Gospel of Jesus Christ and prepare them for missions. And you will serve in leading councils in the Church.
You are talented and gifted in many ways. God has given you gifts of the spirit, talents and abilities, and not just a few, given to you for the blessing and benefit of not only yourself and your family, but for the blessing and benefit of others. You are magnifying your abilities and that is good. Our Heavenly Father is pleased that you are doing so as you continue to strive to be the best that you can be, and as you do so God will open doors for you so that you can use these abilities, these talents to further your goals and bless your family, the one you have now and your very own to come.
You are kind, you are gentle, you are sensitive to the things of the spirit, and I bless you that this may always be the case. Never delay responding to the spirit, for it will protect you. It will guide you, and direct you, it will prompt you. You are compassionate, you are loving, and these talents, these gifts, even gifts of charity, of pure love, of tender love will be a great blessing to those with whom you associate. Many will look up to you, want to follow you, want to be like you, and I bless you that you may always set the proper example, that you may never say or do anything that would be contrary to the spirit and the priesthood, the sacred priesthood that you bear and will bear.
I bless you, *****, that you will have a growing desire within you to bear your witness of what you know is true. You may feel inadequate on occasion to be able to do so, but you can, and you will share testimony, bear testimony, bear witness that will strengthen others' testimonies including your sisters and your parents. Do not hide your testimony, but let others see it and know that it is growing within you. You are a wise young man. I bless you that you can use this wisdom, also a gift from God, to counsel, to assist, to lift, to encourage others as you see the opportunity, and they will come to you.
Now, remember always who you are. Remember that you are a child of God. Remember the blessings of this blessing, and the blessings of your father's blessings and others that have been given to you through the priesthood. Know that God is pleased with your life, and the decisions that you are making, and that He loves you very much.
Now, *****, as you are faithful and endure, even to the very end, then God will permit you to arise in the morning of the first resurrection, which is the resurrection of the just, and the good, and the righteous, and the faithful, that you may be able to live with God, and Christ, and your eternal family in the highest degree of celestial glory, there to continue to be able to grow, and learn, and understand the things of eternity, and even in God's way and time to become as He is. What a marvelous future you have, and I bless you that you can be strong and valiant, not only in your testimony always, but strong and valiant in meeting the challenges that will most assuredly come your way. I bless you that you will stay faithful and always be encouraged by this blessings and knowing who you are, that you may go forward in living well the life that our Heavenly Father desires for you.
Now I would seal this lineage upon you and I would seal this blessing upon you, again based upon your worthiness and faithfulness, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
