*****, in the name of Jesus Christ and by the authority of the Holy Priesthood, by virtue of my patriarchal calling, humbly I lay my hands upon your head and give you your patriarchal blessing as directed by the Holy Spirit, with a prayer to our Heavenly Father that he will inspire the words of this blessing, that you may take comfort and counsel and direction from it, that it may be like a Liahona to you, or a chart and compass, that will lead you safely through this life and back into the presence of your Heavenly Father.

My son, listen to the voice of the spirit as you are blessed and counselled at this time for your life. If you will live by and for this blessing that you receive this day, you will have success and happiness here in this life and eternal life hereafter. Feel at this time that you are encircled in the arms of your Heavenly Father's love, for he loves you. You are special. You are precious in His sight. He has seen your life, He knows you, He has watched over you. He has kept you from unseen perils, knowing your destiny, knowing your greatness, for you are a man of destiny.

You kept your first estate, when you lived with your Heavenly Father, with honor. You were one of His noble and great spirit sons, so righteous, so valiant, so perfect that you were made an elect son, 'elect' meaning foreordained to exaltation in the celestial kingdom; and if you but remain faithful and valiant and righteous, you will certainly inherit eternal life. There is a throne and a crown of righteousness awaiting you in the celestial kingdom. It has your name on it and will be yours if you follow through in this life with the same valiance that you had there, for only the valiant inherit celestial glory. Now the whole object of your life from now on should be to study and learn the true meaning of valiance. It has little to do with words and much to do with deeds and actions and faith and good works.

Now my son, I bless you for your life, that you will have a good life, that you will live long upon the land to accomplish all that you were sent to earth to do, a long, full, rich life, rich in experience and service and love and the important things of life. You are of a royal lineage, the lineage of Ephraim in the house of Israel. You are a descendant of Joseph who was sold into Egypt. This lineage makes you heir to all the blessings of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that you can read about in the Book of Genesis. It makes you a natural and rightful heir to your throne and crown.

Now, my son, your Heavenly Father loves you so much that he has blessed you richly with gifts and talents. You have the gift of intelligence, a good mind, a love for truth, a love for people, and your friendly, outgoing, loving spirit will reach out to thousands in your lifetime. Your name will be had in honorable remembrance from generation to generation because of the righteousness of your life, the example that you will set for others, the influence for good that you will be upon many souls.

Your Heavenly Father is so pleased with you that you are planning a mission for him, a mission for your Savior. Oh how you loved your Savior in the pre-mortal life. You were a champion of Christ. You were one of His best friends, and when your time came to go to earth, He held you in His arms and sent you forth; and you made solemn promises and commitments to Him that you would follow Him here and champion Him here as you did there. You do not remember making these promises, but you did and you have done the best you could and He loves you. He honors you for the integrity of your heart and He will bless you forever. Be faithful in prayer night and morning, never missing, always having a prayer in your heart in between times and Satan can have no power whatsoever upon you. If you are earnest and faithful in prayer, he will be as effectively bound as far as you are concerned as he will be when he is cast into outer darkness.

Now I bless you for that mission. That is the first mission. You will have other missions, different kinds of missions throughout your long life, for you are a leader. You inspire confidence in others. Others looking upon you will instinctively trust you, want to be with you and want to be like you and want to follow you; so try to be the kind of man that they can follow all the way into the celestial kingdom. You will have positions of authority come to you in the Church; and as long as you keep the humble spirit that you have this day, nothing will be impossible to you, and there is no limit to your potential and possibilities for growth and leadership and service in the Lord's kingdom. I bless you for your mission that you will serve for Christ for two years, that you will be led to souls that you promised in the pre-existence you would take the gospel to. Seek them out, pray to recognize them; and all who come into the true Church through your efforts will be your friends forever in the eternity and look upon you as a kind of savior.

You will return home from your mission and pursue your life's course. I bless you for your education and training for your life's work, whatever occupation you choose, that it will be fulfilling to you and of service to others, the occupation by which you will earn a living to support the family that you are going to have; for in due course you will meet your life's mate, the one who will be your wife and queen here and hereafter, and together you will enter the House of the Lord and be sealed husband and wife for time and all eternity and raise a family of children, sons and daughters, unto God. Your children, *****, will become great in the Lord's kingdom in these latter days, they will be leaders in the Church; so I bless you to have special wisdom and inspiration in the rearing of your children, along with your wife, that they may realize their greatness.

I bless you that when you have the higher priesthood, you will have the gift of healing. There will be power in your hands to heal the sick, to cause the lame to walk, the blind to see, the deaf to hear and even, if expedient, to raise the dead to life. Miracles will be wrought under your hands and I bless you that in your ministry you will help to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, minister to the sick and the afflicted, and speak peace and comfort to the downcast and sorrowing.

I bless you with special protection against harm and evil and temptation. The Holy Spirit will be your constant, daily guide and companion, and this is the greatest gift you could have in this life, for He will tell you where to go, what to do, what to say in all the circumstances of your life; and I bless you that as you pay your honest tithes and generous offerings, you will never want for food, clothing, shelter, a beautiful home and all the lovely things that make life worthwhile and pleasant. These two commandments, the tithe and the Sabbath day, are the assurance we have of prosperity.

Every righteous desire of your heart will be granted in the Lord's own due time. No good thing will be denied you, no hand lifted against you will prosper. I bless you that as you go forth, there will be a shield around you throughout your life and a light will proceed from you that others will see and recognize as the light of righteousness.

The time will come when you will see the face of your Savior as he descends in the clouds of glory with all his holy angels to reign on earth a thousand years. You will be caught up to meet Him in the air and your rest will be glorious. So I bless you to come forth in the morning of the first resurrection clothed with glory, immortality and eternal life to live with your Heavenly Father and Christ, your family and all your loved ones, in perfect bliss and happiness forever, all upon condition of your faithfulness in all things unto your last breath; and I seal all these blessings and promises upon you, they will not fail, by the power of my calling and in the name of Jesus Christ, your Savior and Redeemer, amen.
