Brother Amos, in the name of Jesus Christ I place my hands upon thy head and pronounce and seal a blessing upon thee which shall be a guide and a comfort unto thee in time to come, for thou art of the lineage of Ephraim and an heir to the blessing of the New and Everlasting Covenant with the gifts promised to the sons of Zion among whom thou art numbered. Be prudent and seek to know the will of the Lord, for it is thy privilege to become a mighty man in Israel. Therefore, seek to inform thy mind and be diligent in doing good, and the vision of thine understanding shall be opened and thy faith shall increase, and thou shalt comprehend things past, present, and to come, and thy voice shall be heard in defense of the truth among the nations of the Earth. Many shall seek thee for counsel and rejoice in thy teachings. Notwithstanding the finger of scorn may be pointed at thee and the wicked lay snares for thy feet, no power shall prevail against thee as long as thou art in the discharge of thy duty. Thou shalt be prospered in thy journeyings at home or abroad and in thy labors spiritually and temporally. Thy day and years shall be according to thy faith and the desires of thy heart. Thou shalt fill up the measure of thy creation and thy name shall be honorable in the land. Thou shalt not lack for the comforts of life, but shall give unto the needy, cheer up the bowed down, and cause the fatherless to rejoice, and of thy faith fail not. Thou shalt preside over a stake in Zion and thou shalt be numbered hereafter with the fathers in Israel who shall receive their inheritance among the saints. This blessing I seal upon thy head and I seal thee up unto eternal life to come forth in the morning of the first resurrection a saviour in thy father's house. Even so, Amen. |
Brother John, in the name of Jesus Christ I lay my hands upon thy head and seal the blessings of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob upon thee, and say unto thee be faithful and honor thy calling. Live up to thy privileges and the blessings of the Lord shall attend thee, strengthen thy memory, open the eyes of thine understanding, and cause thy faith to increase, for thou hast a work to do which thou hast not yet conceived of. It is thy privilege and duty to do a work for thy kindred and assist in gathering scattered Israel. It is thy duty to labor in the ministry and make thy voice heard among the nations of the earth, and become a wise counselor among thy brethren, exalt the saints to faithfulness, and take an active part among the fathers in Israel, that thy name may be known far and near, and thy name be handed down from generation to generation. It is thy privilege until thou art eighty and five years old. Therefore be prudent and upon thy guard. Seek diligently to know the will of the Lord concerning thee, and listen to the whisperings of the still small voice of the comforter that the stumbling block may be removed from thy pathway, and also that you may have power over evil and unclean spirits and be enabled to hold the adversary at bay, for thou art of the lineage of Ephraim and entitled to the gifts of the priesthood. Thou shalt be enabled through prayer and faith to heal the sick by the laying on of hands, and if necessary thou shalt perform miracles in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. This with thy former blessings I seal upon thy head and I seal thee up unto eternal life to come forth in the morning of the first resurrection with many of thy kindred and friends. Even so, Amen. |
