Brother *****: By the power of the Holy Melchizedek Priesthood, and in the name of Jesus Christ, I lay my hands upon your head as the Patriarch in this Stake and give you your Patriarchal Blessing. I pray for the guidance of Heavenly Father that it will be a blessing which will help you throughout your life. Pray and read your blessing, and as you are prayerful in doing so, you will receive throughout the years the guidance of the Holy Spirit to give you additional knowledge in your mind and heart.

*****, you have been faithful in the pre-existence when you lived with your Heavenly Father and received the privilege of coming to this choice land to receive a body and to test you to see how you will carry out your assignments out of Heavenly Father’s presence. You are here to learn, to gain knowledge, growth and development in this life.

Brother *****, you have come here during a difficult period, and because of your desire and diligence you have been sent here in this last dispensation. You have a mission to strengthen the Church, and you must keep this uppermost in your heart at all times throughout your lifetime as your primary mission. Work in the Church will help you return to the presence of our Heavenly Father, which is the greatest desire that you have and your mission here on the earth.

Brother *****, you were spiritually strong and valiant in your first estate, and you have done all things which were required of you. Heavenly Father will expect this same valiance in this estate. Continue to love the Lord your God, and Jesus Christ, His Son, with all you heart, might, mind and spirit, that He may be uppermost in your mind, regardless of influences of the world.

Now, during your lifetime, there will be serious difficulties for the Saints, and there will be sorrow and problems, but you will be able to bear up under all of this without a fall if you will be faithful in all things, for the Lord has promised that He will bear you up as you keep His commandments. Deviate not at all, for no unclean thing can enter into the presence of God. Repent regularly, cleansing you heart of all things not of the Gospel, and thus purify and strengthen your life to do the desire of your Heavenly Father.

The Lord is pleased, *****, that you have found the truth and were baptized and have dedicated your heart and life to Him, that you may fulfil your second estate honorably. Be diligent, therefore in accepting callings and magnify them, and as you do so, you will receive additional callings and will reach more responsible positions in the Church to accomplish many things that you are capable of doing. Put your heart and mind to the test, and defeat Satan as his promptings approach you, and you will receive great joy in your heart. During these trying times, there will be sorrow, but even with tears in your eyes, there can be joy in your heart when you know that you are doing that which the Lord has commanded.

I bless you against the destroyer that you may serve out your time here on the earth to accomplish that for which you have come. Be strong in your faith at all times. Realize that whatsoever is done or said, other than that which comes from the Prophet upon the earth is false, and follow only that which you know is from our Lord, Jesus Christ. Pray always that you may be delivered from temptations and that you may be successful in living a spiritual life, in whatsoever conditions you may find yourself.

I bless you that you will build your knowledge and strength. Continue to study the Standard Works daily and make them a part of your armor; that you will know what to do and what not to do and to build your strength through doing right things, for you are capable of great things. You will have great privileges and opportunities for growth spiritually, and you will go far as you continue to keep yourself pure from the world. Be circumspect and keep your heart pure and clean.

Keep the Word of Wisdom at all times. Take nothing into your mouth that would defile the body, and let nothing go from your mouth which would defile the Spirit, and always remember the goodness of our Heavenly Father.

Now, Brother *****, as you keep the commandments, I promise you that you will find her whom you will love who will be qualified to go to the Temple of God to receive your endowments and to be sealed to her for time and eternity that you may receive all of the blessings there. Fear not then, but always live pure and keep the commandments of God. You will be blessed with a family. Build your home upon love and the spirit of the Gospel, and you will raise your children in righteousness. Do so with love, mutual consideration, kindness, patience and understanding.

*****, realize that you are a true son of God; therefore walk circumspectly and keep your heart pure. Realize that you have these privileges and opportunities before you and that you have the power to accomplish them.

You are here through the line of Ephraim, and you are thus descended from Joseph who was sold into Egypt. You are of the House of Israel, and you will receive the blessings which have been promised to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and you will inherit these blessings as you live the commandments as you know to do.

I bless you in missionary work and in leading the spirits and souls of men to listen to the Gospel and to be converted by the Holy Spirit. As you do this, you will also be a teacher, so develop your power and ability as a teacher for this is one of your blessings and callings in both spiritual and secular fields. By prayer, you will be successful in doing so, and you will be successful in missionary work also as you expend efforts in this direction.

Now, I bless you with these things, and I say unto you to walk uprightly with strength and humility, realizing the greatness of the Church and the Kingdom and your part in it. You will be defended and guided as you place yourself in a spiritual condition to receive these blessings. I give you this Patriarchal Blessing in the name of the Lord, Jesus Christ, Amen.
