*****, by the authority of the Melchizedek Priesthood and in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and in the presence of your mother and of your desire, I pronounce to you a Patriarchal Blessing.

Our Heavenly Father loves you very much *****. You don't remember, but you lived in the pre-existence before you were born. You were given the opportunity to make choices and decisions. You had a spirit which our Heavenly Father had created for you. You were a blessed child for you had a mother in heaven also. You were an obedient child. You loved our Heavenly Father and you loved our Savior. You were given the opportunity to participate in our Savior's plan. Because you accepted our Savior's plan, you would come to earth and receive a body. In our Savior's plan you would be allowed to make choices. Our Savior loved you and you wanted to prove to Him that you loved Him. You were also blessed because you would come in the last days. There would be more knowledge, but there would also be more temptation. You accepted all the trials that you would go through in your life. You were given weaknesses by our Savior and He also gave you strengths. You would come to this earth to be tested, to be tempted. You would have to come and earn your reward. You were blessed for you went to our Heavenly Father and you chose your father and mother. You knew that they would help you in your life. You were born of goodly parents.

*****, at this time I pronounce to you your lineage. You are blessed for you come from Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph. You are from the tribe of Ephraim. All the promises, all the blessings and all the oaths that were given to Ephraim are yours for this life and for the life to come.

I bless you with the gift of discernment. This gift is a special gift for it gives you wisdom. You will learn from your past mistakes. You will also learn from the mistakes of others. It will strengthen you and help you to make your own decisions.

I bless you now that you are young for time is on your side. Go to your mother. Have gratitude to her for she suffered to have you. Make her your best friend and learn from her. Learn from her mistakes. Learn from her examples, for there are many. You are blessed to have a father who loves you and cares for you. Have gratitude to him. Be there for both of them. One way you can be there for them is by making them proud of you. Show them you can succeed.

I bless you with a special hymn which will help you when you are being tempted, when you feel depressed, when you feel hurt, when you want to feel inspired. This hymn will be a shield to you and a promise is made that this hymn will get you closer to our Savior. This hymn is 'Come Follow Me.'

I bless you with your own scripture. It is found in Luke 13:18-22. It is good that this scripture is given to you on your eighteenth birthday, for you are never too young to learn what the Lord expects of you. Read and learn from this scripture and it will help and guide you through your life.

Our prophet has said that there are three things you must do. Prepare, perform and serve. I bless you that you may prepare by going to school. Have your mind opened to learn of things that will help you in your life. Your performance will come when you apply what you've learned and follow through. I bless you that you will have a desire to go on a mission. I bless you that you will have a beautiful mission and because you have that desire to serve, there will be many whose hearts will be softened and they will be converted to the gospel. This is your way of showing how much you love the Savior.

I bless you that you may be able to be an example throughout your life. Four things you must always do are first pray to our Heavenly Father, second read the scriptures, third go to church and partake of the sacrament and fourth pay your tithing and fast offerings. When you pray to you Heavenly Father, talk to Him and cry unto Him. The more you pray the closer you will get to Him. When you want our Heavenly Father to talk to you, open the scriptures and He will talk to you through the scriptures and you will feel it in your heart.

I bless you that after you have gotten an education and after your mission, because you have fulfilled and served, a promise is made to you that you will find a mate who holds the Melchizedek Priesthood and has also gone on a mission. You will know that person is for you. Go to your mother and ask for her advice and she will confirm the decision you have made. You will go to the temple and be married for time and all eternity. You will be a good wife and you will love your husband. You will be a supporting wife and because of your example your husband will have callings of great leadership positions in the church. He will be able to serve because of your love and your dedication to your faith. You too will serve in callings of leadership positions in the church. You will serve in proclaiming the gospel, perfecting the saints and redeeming the dead. You will be a good and patient mother. I bless you that you will have healthy children and you will raise them as your parents have raised you. You will take them to church and help them in their lives.

I bless you with three gifts which will help you in your life. They are faith, love and unselfishness. Your faith will grow as you read in Alma, chapter 32 and learn of faith. Remember that faith starts with a little seed. Your love will be as the pure love of Christ when you see the good in others and forgive those who offend you. Your unselfishness will come as you serve with all your heart, might and strength and never think of yourself. Always think of others as our Savior Jesus Christ did. You will find happiness and joy when you serve the elderly and prepare meals for them and help them.

I bless you with good health throughout your life. Your health will come when you obey the word of wisdom. When you rise early in the morning and breathe of the fresh air. You will live a long life. Remember, as you get older that you need to show your gratitude to your mother and your father by taking care of them as they have taken care of you. I bless you also that someday you will be a good grandmother. Teach your grand-children all that you've learned throughout your life.

I bless you with your own parable. Your parable is for you to be like an ant and a grasshopper. Learn from your parable. An ant goes through life working hard all his life. The grasshopper thinks of today and never tomorrow. I bless you that you will think of today and tomorrow. Learn from this little parable and apply it in your life. Someday you will look at your life. It will go by fast. Remember that time is on your side. You have been blessed to have a good father and mother, good brothers and sister and good leaders in the church to help you. You have had a living prophet to guide you throughout your life. You were also blessed for you were born when the restored gospel was here on earth. You have lived to work in God's kingdom.

As you have lived your life, just as the spring, the summer, the fall and the winter have come and gone, so must your life. When you get old, you will look back at your life having no regrets of how you have lived. The time will come when you must pass away. You will have a sweet death.

You will live in the millennium for a thousand years with your husband, children and parents and there you will continue to serve and proclaim the gospel. The time will come when you will go before our Savior, Jesus Christ. You will kneel before Him and He will open your book of life and see all that you have accomplished. He will see your sins, your weaknesses, your strengths and your service. Because you have served Him with all your heart, He will forgive you for all the sins you have committed. He will hold you by the hand and guide you to eternal life in the celestial kingdom. There you will reign as a queen with your husband, children and parents and live forever in happiness. *****, all these promises are yours, if you hold on to the iron rod and endure to the end. Never give up and never deny all the things you learned while living the gospel. I seal this blessing in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
