Brother *****, by the authority of the Melchizedek Priesthood, and in my office and calling as a Patriarch in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I lay my hands upon your head and bestow upon you a Patriarchal blessing that will be a guide and a comfort to you throughout your life.

*****, your journey began in the pre-existence, in the spirit world. Prior to your coming into mortality you were taught the plan of salvation, the great plan of happiness. You understood it and had a desire to be a participant in that plan. You understood and appreciated the importance of agency, and you realized that your Father in Heaven had a physical body of flesh and bones, and to become like Him it would be necessary for you to be born into mortality. You would be blessed with a physical body and you would be tried and tested. A veil of forgetfulness was drawn over your mind so that you no longer remember your time in the pre-existence, but you knew your Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ when you were there. *****, they know you and they love you. You were born into the tribe of Joseph, through the blood of Ephraim. I bless you with all blessings pertaining to that tribe of Israel. You were born of goodly parents, so honor your mother and your father, that your days may be long here upon this earth.

You have been blessed with many talents and abilities. I promise you that as you develop and use these gifts, that you will have many blessings in your life. You have been blessed with the ability to be a friend to others. Be aware of those in need and reach out and lift those who are less fortunate than you. Always be mindful of those around you and look for opportunities to minister to them. Be charitable, friendly, and kind in all that you do.

As you travel the covenant path, towards the tree of life, you will have to pass through the mist of darkness, and there will be those who are in that great and spacious building who will try to persuade you to leave the covenant path and go in a different direction. Remember to always hold fast to the iron rod, which is the word of God, and you will not be deceived. Prove all things and hold fast to that which is good. Live by every word that proceedeth forth from the mouth of God. You can find the word of God not only in the scriptures, but in the teachings and words of the modern-day apostles and prophets. Listen closely to what the prophet has to say and live by his teachings. As you do so you will be blessed to remain strong in the gospel of Jesus Christ. When questions arise, study these things out in your mind and in your heart, ask your Father in Heaven in the name of Jesus Christ concerning these questions, and by the power of the Holy Ghost, you will come to know the truth of all things. Always remember that you must ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Jesus Christ and you will be able to come to a knowledge of the truth.

I bless you that the time will come that you will be called to serve a full-time mission. *****, it is important that you begin to prepare for that mission now. Read the Book of Mormon every day, pray sincerely every day, and as you do these things you will come to feel the influence of the Holy Ghost in your life. You will be blessed with the power to resist temptations. As you are faithful to you covenants, you will be able to remain strong and steadfast in the gospel of Jesus Christ. Remember that there are those who are now preparing to receive the message of the gospel. As you serve your mission and seek out those individuals, you will be able to have a good influence upon them as you teach them the truths of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is very important that you live worthy so that you will be prepared to serve this mission for your Heavenly Father. As you serve your mission, remember to always be obedient to the covenants that you have made, and will make in the house of the Lord. Serve the Lord well as a missionary. Go forth, bearing the precious seeds of the gospel, and as you plant these seeds, you will return bearing your sheaves with you.

I promise you to have the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual strength that you will need throughout your life. I bless you to be healthy and strong, so that you will be able to serve your Heavenly Father well and continue to be a faithful servant in His kingdom. I promise you that as you study and learn about the atonement of Jesus Christ, and allow it to have effect upon your life, that you will have your sins forgiven.

I bless you that you will also be mindful of your kindred dead, those family members who have gone before you. I bless you that you will have the desire to seek them out and go to the temple often in their behalf, to do that sacred ordinance work for them. As you do this for them, they will rejoice as they progress in God's kingdom.

*****, when the time is right, I bless you to be able to find a worthy young woman to take with you to the house of the Lord, to be sealed to her for time and for all eternity. You will be blessed with an eternal family and become a father in Israel. You will become an example of righteousness to your posterity. I bless you to have a desire to live a life of service, not only within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but also within the secular aspects of your life. Continue to strive to learn those things that will help you to progress in this life, and throughout eternity.

I seal you up at this time to come forth on the morning of the first resurrection, clothed with power and glory, having a perfected body, and worthy to stand on the right hand of our Savior Jesus Christ. I pronounce this blessing upon you in His holy name, even the Savior, Jesus Christ, amen.
