Brother *****, by the authority of the Holy Melchizedek Priesthood in me vested as a Patriarch in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I lay my hands upon your head, and at your request, give unto you a patriarchal blessing. *****, this blessing is special, sacred and private. Keep it in a private place where you can refer to it frequently and pray and ponder upon its meaning to receive answers to questions as they come to your mind. It is like scripture to you and understanding comes precept upon precept, line upon line. Study it all of your life for it will have eternal meaning. You may share it with your wife and your children, when it is appropriate and would be meaningful in an educational way. But do not share it with others who may off-handedly criticize or poke fun at you or the blessing for that would offend our Father in Heaven.
Our Father in Heaven is pleased with you, especially in your more recent progress and determination to do right. He loves you and desires for you to know that you stood among the leaders and fought with them as you were directed by the great Archangel, Michael, in casting Lucifer and his spirits our of the heavens. He warns you that you then and there became an enemy to Lucifer and he is dedicated to your destruction if you leave him room. He has not been given title to destroy you except by your permission. Be ever so careful in the friends you choose and the activities you attend and where they are held. It is in questionable activities and through false friends that Lucifer may appear to you and lead you away. Choose friends who are of the same interest in church and dedication that you have for they will be uplifting and faithful to you and assist where they can. We must be in the world but we need not be part of it. To state it again, you needn't be afraid for Lucifer has power only where you give it.
Our Father in Heaven desires for you to know that you knew your Savior personally before this world was. You were foreordained to your priesthood callings at his direction, and you received His blessing. You were one of great faith and of considerable dedication in that service and therefore earned the right and privilege to come to this earth and be born into a home where you could be properly taught and have the opportunity, based on your own desire, to go forward in the Lord's service. Honor your father and mother. Seek their counsel and be obedient to it for by that you will receive great blessing at the hand of our Father in Heaven and through them.
You also came to this earth through a long and royal line of ancient servants unto our Father in Heaven and are of the lineage of Ephraim. You are therefore entitled to all of the blessing pronounced upon the heads of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. This includes all things in righteousness and all that our Father in Heaven has. All things pertaining to the priesthood in the church and happiness can be had through your dedication, work and obedience, nothing lacking, nothing missing.
You are special in our Father's eyes for your potential for righteousness, and, in particular, the potential of your future children. It is incalculable in the numbers of people who may be saved through your work, and through theirs.
You will have the privilege to be called on a mission in behalf of the Lord. You will be sent to a people who will have been prepared for your message. Among them you will find ancient friends. You will serve an honorable and successful mission and will obtain the everlasting gratitude of many. You will experience a great and deep love for them.
Should you desire upon return from that mission, a way will be made for you to attend an institution of education and there follow after the profession you desire. The Lord would have you know that He is not particular about what you choose to do, but desires for you to find yourself in a position to always be honest with your fellowmen, that you may never defile yourself in the interest of earthly things.
When it is appropriate the time will come for you to meet a young woman who is at present being raised up in her own home to be a mother in Zion, to be adequate in all things pertaining to the running of a home, defending it against evil and teaching the children. She is one of sweet spirit and one with whom you will share a great and everlasting love. Assist her in developing her spirit, as you develop your own, that your home may be a refuge for not only your family, but your friends; and all who come there will find peace from the world. You will have many teaching opportunities through that spirit. Always honor it. Always be sure that your sweetheart understands your deep love for her and the trust you have. It is by that strength that we are able to withstand the trials and temptations of Lucifer and remain true to our covenants.
You will receive many offices in the Priesthood. Some of which will bring great demands upon your time and your strength, bur go forward with deliberateness and a determination to complete all that our Father in Heaven asks you to do. Through that you will receive happiness and exaltation in His kingdom. Your callings will take you on many trips around the world where you will be asked to administer as well as minister in the gospel. Dedicate yourself so when the time comes you will be prepared in the gospel, lacking nothing in faith and therefore lacking nothing in the completing of your work.
You will receive great blessings, and some will come through your children. Be certain that they are prepared properly for the Lord has a great trust and faith in you. Those who are sent to your home will have a great potential as they will be called to take the gospel to the world in the opening of the great millennial period and the return of our Savior. Honor them, for they chose you before this world was.
You have had many ancestors on this earth who came and died before the gospel was taught. The were true and faithful to those things they knew and understood. For that reason they have been taught and accepted the gospel, and now they wait for someone to place their names at the altars of the temple where their work can be done that they can be released to go forward seeking their own salvation. Be their savior; do that work.
You will be blessed with many gifts in the priesthood, all that you need to accomplish the work which the Lord has given to you. You will be blessed as a healer. You will be blessed with the gift of tongues to accomplish all you need to do. You will even be blessed to calm the elements where it is necessary in the harmonious operation of the church. Always be on guard. Always be watchful for Lucifer does seek after you. Be particularly careful in the participation of sports over the water.
I bless you according to the priesthood I hold, which is to bless the people, with all of the talents, strength, and alertness of mind necessary to you to accomplish all our Father in Heaven has sent you here to do. At the same time I seal you up against the destroyer that you may be free to choose and have the wisdom to do so correctly. I bless you to come forth on the morning of the first resurrection and there in the company of your family stand and receive all that our Father in Heaven has including exaltation in His kingdom.
