Sister Effie according to thy desire I lay my hands upon your head acting in the authority of the Holy Priesthood in the calling of a Patriarch and pronounce upon thee a blessing. Thou art of the house of Israel a descendant of Joseph through the loins of Ephraim, and the blessing of Ephraim do I pronounce upon thee even the blessings of posterity with whom the authority of God shall dwell and honor shall be multiplied upon thee. Notwithstanding thy weakness the Lord loveth thee and hath a work of importance for thee to accomplish. He will manifest to thee that work and mission as thou shalt be prepared to receive it and shall strengthen and bless thee for thine earthly mission as thou shalt permit Him by preserving thyself in purity and by observing to keep his laws and commandments. Thy qualifications and virtues shall be magnified in the ears of thine associates that thy true worth shall be appreciated and that thou shall have influence with thy companions and associates.

I bless thee that thou mayest be firm for the right even having a good word for the work of the Lord and his authority here on earth bearing testimony of the truth on all occasions when good many result therefrom. Thou shalt not be ashamed of the Lord nor will he be ashamed of thee before the Father, but he shall give thee inspiration to guide thee that thou shalt make no mistakes, that thou be not deceived that thou be not over persuaded and entrapped by the evil one. Thou shalt be led by the Spirit of the Lord to avoid evil, to cherish the truth, to overcome and conquer thyself and earn for thyself eternal life which blessings with all thy former blessings I seal upon thee and seal thee up unto the day of redemption against the powers of the adversary unto eternal life and celestial glory in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
