Jesse M. Smith, in the names of Jesus Christ and by authority of the Priesthood delegated unto me, I lay my hands upon your head and confer upon you a patriarchal and a father's blessing. The Lord is pleased with the integrity of thine heart and will multiply unto thee many blessings, and because of thine integrity and liberality thou shalt be blessed with the blessings of the earth in great abundance, shall feed the hungry and administer comfort to the afflicted, and shall encourage those who are depressed in spirit and shall counsel and strengthen the weak among the saints. Thy calling shall be as a teacher, especially to instruct the saints in the wards and settlements of Zion. Thou shalt be a prince and a ruler in Israel and shall be filled with great wisdom and be guided by the Holy Spirit in all these administrations. Nevertheless thou shall be called to preach the gospel to the unbelieving world, and shall have joy in all these missionary labors.

Thy name shall be held in honorable remembrance among the saints forever. Thy children shall rise up and call thee blessed. Thou art of the House of Joseph who was sold into Egypt and numbered with the children of Ephraim, an heir to the Holy Priesthood and entitled to all the blessings of the Redeemer's Kingdom. The Lord will give His angels charge concerning thee to protect thee from dangers seen and unseen, from the wrath of the wicked and from the evils of the world. Thy days shall be lengthened out and thy usefulness extended among the children of men, and thou shalt live in the earth to fully complete thy missions and labors and be fully satisfied with thy last labors.

I seal upon you all these blessings through your faithfulness and all that your heart can desire in righteousness, and also seal upon you power to come forth in the morning of the first resurrection, by power of the Priesthood in me vested in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
