Brother *****, in the name of Jesus Christ and by the authority of the Holy Melchizedek Priesthood, I lay my hands upon your head to give you a patriarchal blessing. Your Heavenly Father loves you and you were one of His choice spirits in the spirit world because of your progress there. You have thus received a special blessing of being born into a family of faith who has helped and guided you to the path to return to live with your Heavenly Father.

You have been blessed with a keen intellect and you are to use your intelligence to grow and learn from all good books and especially the scriptures. Read the scriptures each day and pray for understanding for there are great gems in the scriptures that will bless you throughout your life if you apply them to yourself.

You are of the lineage of Ephraim and have all the promises and responsibilities given to this chosen lineage. It will be up to you to live your life in a way so these blessings will come to pass. Be keen about your responsibilities and how you fulfill them to the very best of your ability.

Pray many times each day. Have a prayer in your heart at all times. As you get the prayer habit, you will find you have a prayer in your heart about everything in which you are involved. Pray always and faint not and do not perform anything unto the Lord save you pray unto the Father in the name of Christ, that your performance may be for the welfare of your soul.

Pray to have the gift of charity and work each day to increase your love for your Heavenly Father, the Savior, and all their children. Each person is a child of God and has divine qualities from which you can learn. Treat them with dignity, respect, and love. They in turn will treat you with love, dignity, and respect. Do good to each person even if it is only in a small way, a cheery hello, a smile, a concern about their lives, or a desire to help them. When you are in the service of your fellowman you are only in the service of your God.

Prepare yourself to receive the Melchizedek Priesthood and have the authority to preach the gospel and perform the ordinance of salvation for your fellowman. Use your priesthood in righteousness and not in unrighteous dominion. Use it with love, kindness, and understanding. Bless each person that asks a blessing at your hand. Bless your wife and children at critical times in their lives. Prepare yourself to be worthy to give these blessings, guided by the Spirit so that the Lord will affirm your blessings.

You are here on earth to build an eternal family so it will be important that you marry the right person, at the right time, and in the right place. Seek the Spirit as you choose your companion and begin your marriage at the temple, sealed for time and all eternity. Be a righteous husband in your home and treat your wife and children with dignity and respect. Be an example to them by living all the commandments. Teach them to know and love their Heavenly Father, the Savior, and the restored gospel.

Follow the prophet for he is here to receive revelation from Heavenly Father to guide you. You have felt the Spirit by the swellings within you. Listen to its promptings and follow them. Pray to have the spirit with you at all times. Avoid the evils of the world by keeping your speech and dress clean and proper. Be an example to those around you and you will have an opportunity to teach them the gospel.

Work, play, and pray with your children that you will become united and they will listen to your counsel and be obedient to their Heavenly Father. You will have great joy as you see your children being obedient to their Heavenly Father and see His blessings poured out upon their heads. Go forward in faith and step out of your circle of comfort and do the difficult things your Heavenly Father calls you to do, for He will bless you, prepare you, and be with you at all times.

I seal you to come forth on the morning of the first resurrection clothed with immortality and eternal life, glorified with your Savior and His righteous children. This blessing is yours depending upon your faithfulness. I give you this blessing in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
