*****, by the authority of the Holy Melchizedek Priesthood and in the office of patriarch I place my hands upon your head and give to you a patriarchal blessing. This blessing is but one of many that you should receive during your sojourn upon this earth for it will be necessary for you to receive additional blessings to have greater insight into those plans that Our Father in Heaven has for you, and that you might receive the necessary keys, authority and responsibilities to enable you to fulfill the callings that you will receive in the kingdom of Our Father in Heaven.

You will be blessed to serve in many capacities in the organizations of the church. In order to accomplish these you must be very faithful, for the responsibility will be weighty upon you. You will have profound impact in the lives of the brothers and sisters of the church. You will have the opportunity to be a leader among them and to be an example of that which Our Father in Heaven would all of His children be. In order to accomplish these tasks, it will be necessary that you prepare yourself with great diligence and great faithfulness. Study the scriptures, listen to the prophets, place first in your life the kingdom of Our Father in Heaven. By so doing you will be prepared to take upon you those callings that will come to you from those leaders over you.

You will have opportunity to go forth and preach the gospel, not only for a short period of your life but through major segments of your life, for the opportunity will be afforded to you to move among many people in various circumstances. In those circumstances you will be able to impart the gospel on a day by day basis as well as in the formality of teaching.

You have these privileges and responsibilities available to you because of the right that you have to bear the priesthood. You have that right for you are of the family of Abraham coming through the loins of Joseph and are of the tribe of Ephraim. You are thereby entitled, through righteousness, to the blessings of the new and everlasting covenant. These blessings will come to you in due time but you must be prepared to receive them. The understanding of those blessings will come to you through your study, through your prayers and through those teachings that will come to you. The magnitude of these blessings is profound and will prepare you, through righteousness, to go back and dwell in the presence of your Father in Heaven, which you can do.

You have been blessed with a capacity of learning which when exercised and developed will allow you to accomplish a worthwhile purpose upon this earth, to enable you to go among people, to speak to them with understanding, and to impact in their lives. You will be blessed with the ability to verbalize your thoughts clearly as you teach. You will be able to organize your thinking in such a way that it will be creative and through that creativity you will be able to contribute to the lives of others. The Lord works through His children on this earth to accomplish His purposes and you have a great responsibility for He will move upon you with His spirit and direct your thoughts and actions if you are worthy before him.

You will have great impact in the lives of people as you help prepare them for the second coming of Our Savior to this earth. You will further impact in the lives of people as you offer to them security, encouragement, and guidance in a world that will be filled with turmoil, a world where people will not know whether to go. Through the insights that you will receive from the spirit, your understanding will allow you to know that course and to assist others in that course.

You must be prayerful before the Lord in all things. Seek for His spirit for that spirit can impart to you all that you need to know to accomplish your mission upon this earth. You can develop within yourself the quality of spirituality, a quality of being receptive to the thing of the spirit. It is important that you do this. Much of your mission will be dependent upon your acquiring a spiritual nature for it will be important for you to have that spirit to know those things that you should say to people.

There will be in the world a spirit of digression, a spirit of evil. Guard yourself that you do not allow any evil to come to you, cast aside those things that are not in keeping with the will of your Father in Heaven and guard yourself that even the appearance of evil should be about you. You must be an example of righteousness to all that see you and most importantly to yourself. Through your righteousness, the Lord will open to you the opportunity to receive all the blessings that He offers to His choice sons upon this earth. Seek for the kingdom above all other things.

I seal you up that you might come to the terminus of this life and be prepared to make the transition from mortality to immortality knowing that you have served your Father in Heaven in righteousness. All this I do in the sacred and holy name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
