Brother *****, in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Master, and by the power and authority of the Melchizedek priesthood and my calling as an ordained patriarch, I lay my hands upon your head and give unto you your patriarchal blessing. *****, I bless you as a son of God that you will always be a man of great spiritual strength and honor. You will take good care of your soul. You will ensure by the actions you take in your life that you will preserve it, that you will keep it clean and pure.

*****, you are a member of the house of Israel by birthright. Many years ago Jehovah gave unto Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob blessings, and they are yours as you stay true and faithful to the Lord. Within the house of Israel, you are of the great tribe of Ephraim, the tribe of the firstborn. You will never forget the power and authority of this blessing. Your responsibilities are grave and many, as are your blessings. One of the responsibilities you have is to be the best man you can be in everything you do, to be as good a man in private as you are in public. You also have the responsibility to teach and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to all whom the Lord causes to cross your path. I bless you as an elder in the service of the Lord that you will do remarkably well, that you will teach the gospel within the bounds the Lord has set. You will teach true doctrine.

I bless you that you will know the scriptures well because you will love the scriptures and will read them endlessly. You will listen to the words of the modern-day prophet, his counselors, and the Quorum of the Twelve, and you will know that their message is the Lord's words for your time. You will always take them to heart. You won't miss a General Conference unless the activities in your life take you to some place in the world where there is no communication. Sometimes you will attend General Conference but, no matter what the circumstance, you shall listen well. You will read the conference reports and make them part of the personal reading you assign yourself.

I bless you, *****, that you will use your time well. You will measure it correctly and will always see that the Lord comes first in your life. You will make time to read, ponder, and meditate on the scriptures and the gospel. This will make you a strong man. In all of your life, you will be meek and humble. You will know that humility is not weakness, but endless power and strength under control.

I bless you that you will be protected from the angels of the evil one. You will be able to turn your back on any situation in which you know you should not be involved. You will walk away, and it will have no effect on your life. I bless you with the utmost strength to do your part to see that this blessing comes to pass.

You will go to the house of the Lord, and there you will receive your own endowment. I bless you that you will stay true and faithful to the blessing you will receive from your stake president as he sends you out into the world to teach the gospel. Your life will be refreshing, and you will make it so because of the way you shall live.

The years will go by, *****. You will come home from your mission. You will finish your schooling, doing whatever needs to be done. The day will come when you will return to the house of the Lord with the sweetheart of your life. There you and she will be sealed for time and all eternity, bonded forever by one having authority to seal on earth and in heaven. I bless you that you will always stay true and faithful to your wife. You will exercise absolute fidelity throughout your days. You will treat her as the heart and soul of your family.

You will be a father in Zion. Sons and daughters will be born to you and your wife, and you will bring them up so they will know and do the things they must do to know eternal life. The world will be a better place because of them. When they leave your home, you will have given them wings to fly above the base things of the world and a strong anchor to the family. *****, I bless you that the family will come only after the Lord in your life. You will truly be a family man. I bless you that you will be able to provide well for your family, no matter what your profession might be. You will be able to care for them and for others. You and your family will find great happiness and joy in being able to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and care for those who are not quite as blessed as yourself.

I bless you that you will always keep the Word of Wisdom. You will know this law well, the spirit and the letter of it. You will never take anything into your body that would harm you in any way. I bless you further that you will be wise in the field of finance. You will manage your money well, and you will always pay a tithe. One of the joyful moments in your life will be when you and your wife and children go before your common judge in Israel and declare that you are tithe payers.

*****, I bless you with the strongest of testimonies of the Prophet Joseph Smith. You will know within your heart and soul that he saw God, the Father, and His Only Begotten Son, Jesus Christ, that they taught him, and he did as he was bidden. You will know in your heart and will testify that an angel visited him on many an occasion. On one occasion Joseph was permitted to take the plates that had the appearance of gold. From these, by the spirit of the Lord, he was able to translate the Book of Mormon, a book that is another witness of the Lord Jesus Christ. I bless you that it will be your favorite of all the books you shall ever read. You will be a learned man. You will read, study, think, and ponder, and it will bring you great joy in your life.

I bless you that, when the end of the day comes, your mind will be at ease because you will know that you have been true and faithful to the Lord and to your family members and honest in your dealings with your fellow man. You won't worry about the things that have transpired in the day or what lies ahead tomorrow, for I bless you that you will always be prepared. You will be a positive person, a man of great hope. You will have endless charity, the pure love of the Savior. I bless you that, in all of this, you will find great happiness. There will be a bump or two in the road as you go through life, but I bless you with the strongest faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and that you will be able to overcome all things. You will remain meek and humble.

You were not meant to be here forever, and the day will come when you will leave this earth. Before you do, I promise that you will be able to look back on your life and recall all the many wonderful things that have happened to you, the love you have known, the joys and challenges. I promise you that, as you leave this life, it will be without undue pain. You will step through the veil with a simple on your face, and you will be met on the other side. You will go into the presence of your family, who has gone on before, and they will be so happy to see you. You will be in the presence of your Heavenly Father and the Lord. I bless you that you will always hold fast to the iron rod and will keep your feet firmly planted on the straight and narrow path that will lead you home to your Heavenly Father and the Lord.

*****, this is your patriarchal blessing. It is given to you of the Lord. He knows who you are and He loves you. He is pleased with you and your life. This blessing is conditioned upon your faithfulness and the will of the Lord, and I seal it upon you in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
