Dear Brother Gibson, as you have come here desiring in your heart a patriarchal blessing, I feel to say that you will not be disappointed, that there is a blessing for you, that the life you have led, faith and good works that you have shown, entitled you to a blessing, even a patriarchal blessing. I say Dear Brother continue in the future as you have in the past, working by word and deed for the building of the Kingdom of God, and the establishment of Zion on the earth, that God will give his angel, or your guardian angel charge concerning you, that will be on your right hand and on your left, and always on hand in the hours of trial or temptation to say 'this is the way walk ye in it,' that you will not go astray, but will be able to discern that straight and narrow path that leads thee unto everlasting life. There are many days before you, and you will have an opportunity of doing a work, yet, one that will be pleasing to you and satisfactory to those to whom you hold yourself amenable for your acts. God will bless you in body, so that your life will be prolonged that you will not be cut short before you finish your days, and what you will see in your future life the manifestations of the power of God that you will behold, the great judgments as spoken of by the prophets, the sun being darkened and the moon turned to blood, the sea heaving beyond its bounds, the great calamities that will come upon the wicked, you will see! And you will be able to realize that God is at work, that it is his hand; it's his work that is bringing these things about. Your children will not stray away from the ordinances of the house of God. Your name will be perpetuated by them in honor to the latest generation; and your wife, your companion will stay with you and will not forsake you, become estranged or alien to you, but will cling to you like the cords of death. Dear Brother, I seal upon you the Holy Spirit of promise of eternal life, and I seal you up unto eternal life to come forth in the morning of the first resurrection. This I do by the authority of the Holy Melchizedek Priesthood which has been conferred upon me in the name of Jesus, even so, Amen.
