Brother *****, in my patriarchal calling, I place my hands upon your head and give unto you a patriarchal blessing. Thou art of the pure seed of Joseph that was sold into Egypt by his brothers, and you have a right to all the blessings of the patriarchs of old, and I seal upon you if it should be in accord with our Heavenly Father, the blessings of life and health and strength, and I rebuke by the authority of the Holy Priesthood the power of the destroyer, and I seal you up against this power till the day of redemption. My dear brother, we know not the design of our Heavenly Father in allowing this severe sickness to come upon you, but if you are not decreed by Him to go home at an early age, you shall live and become a useful man in the kingdom of God here upon the earth. If the Lord has decreed to take you home to work with your Father, it will be made known to your dear mother, and you will go where there is no sorrow and assist your dear father in preaching the gospel to your dead relatives and preparing a place in thy father's abode, and in preparing a place for your dear mother and the children that are left to come to you. Dear brother, it is my calling to bless you and pronounce upon you the blessing of life and health to live and be a blessing to your dear mother for some years to come and assist in providing the comforts of life for the home. And I seal this blessing upon you through your faith and my calling in the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and I pray God to bless you according to thy great faith and your desire to live, and I do it in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
