Brother *****, in the name of Jesus Christ and by the authority of the Melchizedek Priesthood I bear, I lay my hands upon your head to give until you your Patriarchal Blessing.

It is a great honor for me to give unto you your lineage, for you are of the loins of Ephraim and are entitled to all the blessings of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. These blessings are as numerous as the sands upon the seashores and the stars in the heavens. A part of these blessings is your membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The Lord will bless you with the health and strength of body, mind and spirit as you go forth to serve your Heavenly Father on your mission. You will find the joy, peace and happiness that will come to you as you put forth the effort to be the kind of missionary that He would want you to be.

As you meet with the people you will have the opportunity of bearing your testimony to them of the truthfulness of the restored gospel and the atoning sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I bless you that you will be able to work harmoniously with your companions. You will have the compassion, love and understanding with one another. As you are working with the investigators you will have the privilege of letting them know of your love for them, for the restoration of the gospel, the love of our Savior and the great atonement he made for us.

You are admonished to continue showing great love and respect for your parents. As you do your children will show the same love and respect for you.

The Lord will bless you as you apply yourself in preparation for your life's work. You will find much peace and happiness as you pursue the work you plan to do.

You are admonished to be very selective in your choice of friends. The young lady you choose to be your eternal companion will be one that you have friend shipped and will have the same eternal goals. You will want to have your marriage sealed in the temple for time and eternity. Your children as they come into your family will be born under the covenant and will find the love and guidance they need throughout their lifetime.

*****, it is not by chance that you came to earth at this time. You were reserved to come to the earth when the gospel had been restored in its fullness. Many times you were taught, in the preexistence, the principles of the gospel and the plan of salvation. It was your desire to come into a home where these principles were taught and lived so that you could enjoy a lifetime membership in His church.

Your Heavenly Father is pleased with your desire to serve as a true servant to Him and to those you contact. As you work with your family members and your member friends you will be an instrument in His hands, a light unto them, and an example for them to follow. As you associate with your non-member friends they will see in you the qualities that set you apart and they will desire to know what they are. Thus giving you an opportunity to continue your missionary labors throughout your life sharing your testimony and teaching the principles of the gospel.

You will be blessed as you attend the temple on a regular basis to do the work for your kindred dead and to receive the spiritual growth and comfort that is there.

You will have many opportunities to serve in the church. You will be called to serve in many different capacities and don't at any time consider a calling to be unimportant. Each calling will give you a different experience to learn and grow spiritually and an opportunity to show your Heavenly Father that you love Him and are willing and eager to serve Him and your fellowmen.

Your Heavenly Father loves you very much. He will watch over and protect you and give you the inspiration you need to carry out the responsibilities that come to you not only now but through out your lifetime.
