Brother *****, by virtue of the Holy Melchizedek Priesthood which I hold and acting under the keys and priesthood of Patriarch of the _____ Stake of Zion, I do lay my hands upon your head to give unto you a Patriarchal Blessing. Such a blessing is given contingent upon the faithfulness and righteousness of the individual, as are all blessings promised by the Lord unto his children.
Brother *****, you are, along with a very few people who have been born in this world, most fortunate that you have in your young adult life found your way into the Church and Kingdom of Jesus Christ in these last days. Although you were born in other circumstances and lived a part of your life outside the influence of this beautiful blessing, you did find your way by association and by interest and by seeking and by prayer, and finally then by baptism into the Church and Kingdom of God. It was by the power of the Holy Ghost that you were taught and led and assured that this is true. For you have now found the ultimate truth on this earth. The Gospel of Jesus Christ, as it has been restored in these latter days, contains all the truth that the Father has ever given unto his children since the days of Adam. The House of Israel has been re-established; for the Lord did declare that those who receive baptism and priesthood in this Church and Kingdom become the sons and daughters of Abraham in the House of Israel. I do declare that you are of the tribe of Ephraim in the House of Israel.
These are important and significant days in the earth's history and you have been preserved, as other young people, to be born in this time and these circumstances in which you have the blessing and opportunity to be exposed to those who were bearers of the Lord's Holy Priesthood. Now that you have been blessed with understanding and baptism and priesthood, you have the great responsibility to teach the Gospel unto all the world through your actions and through your attitude and by your example and your teaching ability. The Lord has need of us to prepare for the second coming. That is your responsibility, Brother *****. It is also your great blessing, for it is a blessing to teach and to expound and devote your time and your talents and your capacities for the building up of the Kingdom of God in these last days.
I admonish you, all the days of your life, to study the Gospel of Jesus Christ and know the scriptures. As you come to know them, the Holy Ghost will cause your mind to comprehend them and your intellect and your entire nature will be edified. You will become more noble and righteousness and a more beautiful human being in all respects. For this is the effect of the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is the power and influence of the Holy Ghost upon men. Only those who have this priesthood and are members of this Kingdom have a claim on these blessings of the Holy Ghost. You are one such.
Gird yourself about with the armor of Jesus Christ. Live in intimate, personal righteousness. Make sure that you do not allow Satan to taint you, to cause you to become in any respect immoral. For Satan is powerful in these days and has great capacity to darken and confuse the minds of men. But those who bear the Lord's Holy Priesthood and understand His Gospel can be lights in that darkness, and you must train yourself to be such a light.
You must prepare yourself to know and understand the Gospel better than you do today. You must be willing to serve, for in service comes great blessings. The Lord has said that through sacrifice comes forth the blessings of Heaven. Be willing to accept all calls of sacrifice and obligation that come to you by those who are set to preside in the Church.
Listen to the Prophet's words, for he is the mouthpiece of God unto the people of the earth in these days. He will never misguide the people of the Church. No matter what other words are spoken by those in or out of the Church, listen finally to the words of the Prophet and know the things he says are true and authentic.
Listen to the brethren who preside over you and be subservient to them, for they will lead you in righteousness. Seek to understand and receive all the priesthood that the Lord is willing to bestow upon you. Seek too, that you may find a righteous young woman with whom you may enter the Temple to be sealed for time and eternity, that you might thereafter bring forth a family and fulfill the purpose of your creation on this earth.
The Lord will bless you and make you strong as you study and learn and perfect yourself. Great joy and happiness will come unto you. If you are noble and righteous and strive diligently, you may have the opportunity to stand at the second coming of the Savior, for His day is not far away.
Now, teach the Gospel. Be a missionary at all times in your life. If you receive a call to be a full time missionary, accept it. Go forth in righteousness and serve in love and purity, being compassionate and understanding of all your fellow men. In the day that you are a father in Israel, raise your children in righteousness and gentleness and be an example of great purity before your children and your wife, that all the blessings of our Father in Heaven will be upon you and you will one day stand and receive your blessings in eternity.
These admonitions and these blessings and these promises I seal upon you and send you forth to live as a noble and strong servant of the Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
