Sister *****, by the authority of the holy Melchizedek priesthood that I am privileged to hold I give you your patriarchal blessing this afternoon. This is a wonderful privilege for you and me to share for we can sense the presence of the Spirit with us this afternoon and enjoy this illumination. And, this illumination can bless you for the rest of your life.

Be mindful that these blessings that will be promised to you are based upon your obedience for when you plead for a blessing from the Lord you will understand that every blessing is predicated upon a commandment. Also be forewarned that you will be saved by the grace of your Savior, Jesus Christ. You cannot demand exaltation. You will pray for his grace and his mercy to be exercised on your behalf. You will qualify for these many blessings if you are contrite and come before the Lord with a broken heart.

You have the capacity to receive light upon light until the perfect day. As you grow through these precepts you will find yourself gaining a deeper appreciation of the atonement and a deeper understanding of Jesus Christ's role as your Savior and Redeemer. He loves you. He wants you to be part of His family. He cannot violate your free agency, but He will do all He can to influence you. In turn, seize the iron rod and traverse mortality as you pursue your journey in pursuit of partaking of the fruit from the tree of eternal life.

You are a child of God, blessed with intellect. This gift is to be used to serve and bless mankind, whatever your profession. This is also a gift to be employed to serve and aid those who are less fortunate.

You have received the gift of the Holy Ghost by being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. You will have moments in time when you sense being very close to the Savior. You will feel his Spirit. You will sense whisperings and promptings and soothing influences by the power of the Holy Ghost. I challenge you because of your intellect to go the the Lord with your questions and ask your Father in Heaven for answers to your inquiries. But, be prepared for what answers that will come to you. By those answers you may be called to become more dedicated in your service to others. You will learn of the need to sacrifice of your time and talents to help build the Kingdom of God.

You are a blessed child to have been nurtured by such righteous persons who have loved and nurtured you. They are so dear to you and so kind. They want everything for you. This has been a deep and abiding blessing in your life.

You have a very quick mind and this is the same mind you possessed in the preexistence. You were there when, in the grand council, the plan of salvation was presented. You understood the atonement of Jesus Christ while in that realm. Your knowledge and acceptance of that plan enabled you to enter mortality, even being aware that you would face challenges and difficulties in this life. You knew that there would be doubts, perhaps depression and turbulence in this life. But you knew that the Lord would have already suffered for your sins, shortcomings, illnesses and frailties. The Lord loves you. He has always loved you. Through His grace and mercy you will be exalted in the morning of the first resurrection.

You have a challenge to use your talents in your reading of the scriptures. You will gain in your ability by your study and prayer to meditate upon the truths of the gospel. You will, day by day, learn more of the precepts of the gospel that can govern and guide your pathway.

You will be a counselor and a teacher. You will be an advocate for the less fortunate. You will be a mother in Zion. You will be blessed to bring children into this world and to be sealed to them in the House of the Lord.

You will have opportunities to go to the temple and to do vicarious works in the temple for your ancestors. You will understand how they came into this world before the fullness of the gospel was on the earth. Your ancestors did their very best with the light that they had, and you, in return for their loyalty to their posterity, will be able to receive on their behalf all of those blessings in the temple that will already have been bestowed upon you. You will have moments of great insight, and a penetrating peace and joy as you do this work.

At times you will feel as though you are being carried upon the wings of personal revelation, blessed with a vision of the panorama of the gospel from its ancient beginnings until the day the Lord announces that His work is done. This personal vision will come to you because of your faithfulness and your ability to understand these teachings. You will be strong physically and mentally. You may do battle with some emotional difficulties, but through your humility, your prayerfulness and your dependence upon the Holy Ghost you will prevail.

You are a guardian of light to those around you.

You are a special advocate for the Lord. I declare that you are of the lineage of Ephraim and as such you are a beneficiary of the Abrahamic Covenant. You will participate with the Lord in gathering in His lost sheep. This will be a mission that you will fulfill your entire life.

I seal this blessing upon you with my love and appreciation for you. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
