Brother Samuel: In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by thy own request, I lay my hands upon thy head to impart unto thee a blessing — a Patriarchal Blessing. And I trust that God will give unto me of the Holy Spirit that what I may say may be recorded in the Archives of Heaven. And I bless thee in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and say unto thee that God the Eternal Father is well please with thee and with thy labors, for thou art of Ephraim through the loins of ElKanah, and Ephrathite, and of Samuel his son. And inasmuch as thy great progenitor was called upon to administer unto the Great High Priest so that great influence which he enjoyed to administer unto the Holy of the Holies and wait upon Eli the great High Priest and became great and mighty in the things of God, that has descended unto thee for his blood permeates in thy veins. Thou art laboring in the Temples of the most High near unto the Holy of the Holies as he did; but that great opportunity that he might enjoyed in thine and a greater work because of the greater light, for he only held one Key, but in this dispensation, which is a dispensation of all dispensations, a consolidation of them all, when all the powers and all the authority of the world has come together a mightier work is to be done.

I say unto thee, Brother RosKelley, the Lord will bless thy progenitors. They have a watchful eye over thee, and the day will come, and that not very long, when your progenitors will visit you, when they will reveal unto thee the full links of thy ancestry, according to the genealogy of the Priesthood as it has been handed down from the days of Adam. And those who have not had the opportunities that you and I have had to live in this great gospel day, they shall be redeemed. Thou shalt stand forth upon Mount Zion as a Saviour, of the true and living God. I say unto thee that thou shalt accordingly go forth and bind up the Law and Seal up the Testimony and shall declare before Heaven, and before the World, that Jesus is the Christ, that Joseph Smith is a Prophet of the Most High God. Thou shalt bear witness of the Resurrection of the Dead, of what thy eyes have seen, and what thy ears have heard, that thou hast seen Him and enjoyed his Society. He has placed his hands upon thy head and blessed thee. Canst Thou believe that? It is true! And greater works than these shall be thy lot if thou still continue to hold on to the 'rod of Iron' as unmovable as the pillars of the Temple of the Most High.

There is no blessing that the Lord shall not grant unto thee. The destroyer shall be rebuked! He will not have power over thee though Earth and Hell shall rage; for thy eyes shall sparkle as living diamonds, that every power within its grasp shall fall before thee. And I bless thee with the blessings of the New and Everlasting Covenant, and with every blessing. But the wicked will rage, they will desire to destroy thee from the Earth. They will desire to impair thy usefulness; for the principle of the Resurrection of the Dead must be proclaimed to this generation, and some must 'bite the dust' and lay down their lives for the testimony of Jesus Christ as they have done in ancient days. And I seal these blessings upon thee, and the blessings of Health, and the blessings of Life; and everything that thou desires in thy heart. God will grant unto thee, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
