Beloved Sister *****, by the power and authority of the Holy Melchizedek Priesthood which I hold and as an ordained patriarch, I lay my hands upon your head and give you a patriarchal blessing. This blessing is given to you, *****, as you stand on the threshold of womanhood with your whole life before you. Know that the Lord loves you and is mindful of you and has many blessings in store for you, both in this life and in the life to come. Since this blessing comes from the Lord, it is sacred. Treasure it; keep it in a safe place but a place where it is readily accessible so that you can read it often, for it will provide guidance and direction in times of decision-making; it can provide comfort and solace in times of trial and sorrow, and it can provide inspiration and a feeling of well-being when you need to be uplifted and feel the Lord's love for you. Know also that this blessing is predicated upon your righteousness, your desire for truth, and your willingness to remember and keep the commandments which our Father in Heaven has given.

Sister *****, you were known and loved by the Lord in the preexistence. In that premortal state you were valiant in supporting our Heavenly Father and His plan and your elder brother Jesus Christ. You rejoiced with the host in heaven when you learned you would have the opportunity to come to this earth, to receive a body, and to have your free agency that would enable you to be tried and tested as to your loyalty to your Heavenly Father. Though you were most anxious to prove yourself, your spirit was withheld until these latter days when the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ is on the earth and you would be born into a good family with goodly parents and be able to experience the restored Gospel in your life.

Having been born in these latter days, you are greatly blessed, but where much is given much is expected, and the Lord has a mission for you to perform. You were sent here as a soldier to defend truth and righteousness and to assist the Lord in spreading His gospel to every kindred, tongue, and people. If you are faithful and strive to serve your Heavenly Father and keep His commandments, your life will be preserved until your mission is complete.

Sister *****, your blessing comes through the loins of Ephraim who was the son of Joseph who was sold into Egypt. As a recipient of that blessing, you qualify for all the rights and privileges of the blessings given to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, but are especially called in these latter days to assist the Lord in the literal gathering of Israel for that last great Millennium in which the Lord Himself will rule and reign upon the earth.

I bless you that you will have a positive influence upon your peers, that you will never compromise your principles or standards or beliefs for the sake of popularity or gain or worldly pleasure. There will be those who deride and criticize and even exhibit hatred, but know that deep down in the recesses of their hearts they will know that you are right and that the truth is in you. And so I bless you that you will take the opportunity to share the Gospel with those who will listen. I bless you to have charity in your heart for all people, for all those with whom you come in contact, that you will exhibit the true love of Christ to them, but that you will take for your close friends, those who cherish their Church membership and rejoice in serving God.

Therefore, I caution you to avoid places and close relationships that are fraught with temptation and may lead to sin and sorrow and disappointment. Know that the line between righteousness and unrighteousness is a fine one. Stay well back from that line and you will feel the love of God through the Holy Spirit; you will feel the Lord wrap His arms about you and have a feeling of inner security and peace that will enable you to be strong and resist temptation.

I bless you to know that Satan is real, that he is working hard in these latter days to lead stray the souls of men and women, that he has made the world to look alluring. But I bless you that as you turn your back on Satan, as you seek the face of the Lord, as you humble yourself before Him with a broken heart and a contrite spirit, and in prayer asking forgiveness for your sins and pouring out your thankfulness with all the strength your soul can muster for the many blessings that have enriched your life, Satan will have no power over you. And then I bless you that you will feel comfortable in asking the Lord for that of which you stand in need, be it great or small. As you approach Him in prayer on a continual basis, the cords of communication between you and the Lord will strengthen, and you will learn to recognize the still, small voice that will whisper in your heart and give you visions, revelations, and answers to your prayers.

I bless you that your mind will be alert and receptive to those things that you learn in school and in Church, and that you will temper all the secular knowledge that you gain with the spiritual knowledge that you gain through Church membership. I exhort you to take advantage of the Church programs that will enhance your testimony: attend seminary, be active in the Young Women's Program, attend Church regularly, and study the scriptures and Church magazines. And as you study those sacred words, I bless you that they will become a delight to you and a comfort that you will look forward to daily, for the words will distill upon your soul and give you insight into even the mysteries of heaven.

Now, *****, I bless you that you will lead a chaste and virtuous life, and that one day a young priesthood holder will take you to the temple where you will be sealed to him for time and all eternity. There may be others who seek your hand, but I exhort you to wait for that special young man so that later in life you will not experience bitterness or disappointment. Now I bless you as you kneel in the temple across the altar from him with your hands clasped in a special way, the Spirit of the Lord will bear testimony to you that this ordinance is recorded not only on earth but also in heaven and will endure throughout all eternity.

One of the great purposes for which you were sent to earth was to establish an eternal family. Your home will be blessed with children and you will share in that great creative process with your Heavenly Father. Now I bless you to be a spiritual leader with your husband, to work together with him in all that you do so that there is no dissension or bitterness between you, and that you will strive together to teach your children the doctrines of the kingdom. I bless you to strengthen your home by holding family home evening, scripture study, family prayer, family councils, regular interviews, and regular Church attendance so that your children will be strengthened and be able to resist the temptations with which they come in contact as they go out in the world, and they will remain strong in the faith and never bring dishonor upon you or your husband. I bless you that you will create a home that is safe from the fiery darts of Satan, where temptation will not enter, neither through the door nor electronically, a place of tranquility and peace, a place that is safe and comfortable, a place that is a refuge from the chaos and turmoil of the world.

I bless you that you and your husband will return often to the temple, that it will be a special place for you, that you will research your family history and bring to those sacred altars the names of those ancestors who have gone on before so that through the sacred ordinances that can only be performed on the earth, they will be released from darkness into light. You will then experience the joy of being a savior on Mt. Zion.

I bless you with good health insomuch as you remember and keep the Word of Wisdom, taking nothing into your mind or body that would pollute it. Read good books; listen to good music; learn to appreciate and enjoy the great accomplishments of both man and God. Beware especially in these latter days to choose carefully the visual entertainment that you view so that you will not place images in your mind that are difficult to erase and that will chase the spirit away.

Now I bless you as you interact with young people in the Church and outside the Church, that you will not be ashamed of the Gospel of Christ and that they will know your testimony is strong and you desire to serve God and keep His commandments. I bless you to encourage young men, young priesthood holders, to go on missions and your friends to marry in the temple.

The Lord has blessed you with many talents, many you are yet to discover. He has great need of these talents, and you will be called to responsible positions in the Church. I exhort you to accept those callings willingly. I bless you as you do so, that you will find joy in the service, and that as you strive for excellence in all that you do in this regard, you will draw closer to the Lord. Sister *****, as you seek to perfect yourself, to keep the commandments, to serve our Heavenly Father, I bless you that you will feel His Spirit swell your soul, and you will feel a joy and contentment that is beyond anything the world has to offer.

Sister *****, I bless you that as you are true and steadfast in the faith, prevailing in righteousness until the end of your days, serving your Father in Heaven at every opportunity, and doing those things you are called to do and know to be right, you will be privileged to be called forth on the morning of the first resurrection, the resurrection of the just, and be given an opportunity to serve the Lord as He rules and reigns upon the earth during that last great millennium. And one day, as all those who dwelled on earth must, you will stand before the bar of judgement of God, washed clean and pure by the blood of the Lamb, even Jesus Christ, whom you have loved and served all your days, and there you will be exalted into the mansions of our Father in Heaven where you will rule and reign with your husband and loved ones in unending happiness throughout all eternity. This blessing I pronounce upon you and seal upon you in the most holy name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
